    Farm Update: June 2020

We're finally transitioning out of spring and into summer flowers! Not that I don't love spring flowers. I LOVE spring flowers. Ranunculus, larkspur, stock... all the cool weather flowers that are such a relief to see after a long winter. But now the HOT weather flowers are coming in: sunflowers, scabiosa, yarrow, statice, and so many more. I'm stoked. So for you curious flower lovers, I'm gonna take you through what's in the garden now! First up, Sunflowers! Sunflowers are

    The Sweet Pea Forest

Although every year is different, this year has been extremely unique. It seems like several of our flower crops have been much bigger and healthier than previous seasons. It's really neat to see! One of the crops doing unusually well are the sweet peas! We made sure to build sturdy structures so that the sweet peas had plenty to climb. Even before we had our flower farm, I still had

    First Buds of the Season

This has been a looong winter. I think a lot of you flower-lovers will agree with that. It's been wet, gloomy, cloudy, rainy, soggy..... But now, what you've all been waiting for..... The First Real Buds of the Season are here!! Of course, I jumped on the opportunity to photograph any signs of life in the field. These pictures were taken the week of March 8th. I decided to make a bouquet of all the pretty things blooming in the yard that week. Daffodils, peach tree blossoms,

    The Garden in Film

Photography has been a hobby of mine for a couple years now. I remember walking around the garden when I was in high school and snapping shots of flowers I thought were cool with my phone. Later in high school, my senior year I think, I took a photography class. I remember making my own pin hole camera and going outside and taking pictures in the parking lot. We got bonus points if we managed to capture clouds (thanks Ms. Cedeño). I feel like we could only take one picture
